Banana oat cookies with raisins and cinnamon

These banana oat cookies are soft and chewy rather than crisp butter cookies. Use 240 g peeled ripe banana flesh, 80 g dry regular rolled oats, 75 g dark seedless raisins and 1.3 g ground cinnamon.

The base is deliberately made without vanilla extract or greasing fat. Use suitable nonstick baking parchment. The measured mixture weighs about 396 g before baking; divide it into fourteen mounds, about 28 g each, without treating that as a measured cooked weight.

One cookie is one portion. These are ordinary fruit-and-oat cookies, without promises about weight loss or suitability for a medical diet. Check the oats and raisin labels for any requirements specific to the person eating them.

Allow approximately 35 minutes in total, including about 15 minutes of active preparation. This is a planning estimate; cooking and cooling depend on the equipment and ingredients.

Nutrition is an ingredient-based estimate per portion: one of fourteen similar small cookies. The calculation uses the specified edible weights and USDA reference foods. Optional serving extras are excluded; actual brands and final cooked weight can vary.

Step 1

Heat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Line a baking sheet with suitable nonstick baking parchment; do not add oil or cooking spray to this base.

Step 2

Mash 240 g peeled ripe banana flesh. Stir in 80 g dry regular rolled oats, 1.3 g cinnamon and 75 g dark seedless raisins until the oats are coated.

Step 3

Divide all the mixture into fourteen similar small mounds. Flatten with a fork, because these cookies should start in their intended shape rather than relying on oven spreading.

Step 4

Bake for about ten to fifteen minutes, until the edges are set. Let the cookies cool before moving them. Serve as fourteen separate portions.
